The examination is adapted to your sport and the medical requirements set by your federation or competition organiser.

When do you need a medical certificate for a competition?

Some sports federations and organisers require a certificate of good health or a specific medical certificate before you take part. Requirements can differ between countries, sports and competitions.

We help you go through the documentation for, among other things:

• Marathons and long-distance races: when the organiser requires a medical certificate and possibly additional examinations.
• Motorsport: when the type of competition or the licence application requires a medical assessment.
• Other sports competitions: where the federation or organiser asks for a certificate about your health.

Always check which certificate is required, how old it may be and whether a specific form must be used.

What does the health examination include?

At the visit, the doctor goes through your health, previous illnesses, injuries and any medication. An examination is then carried out based on the requirements that apply to your competition.

The examination may include, among other things:

• A review of your medical background and current problems.
• An examination of your heart and lungs, and a blood pressure check.
• An assessment of your mobility and previous injuries.
• Additional examinations or tests when required.

When the assessment is finished and the documentation is complete, the doctor fills in and signs the certificate. If further investigation is needed, you will be told about the next step.

Do you need an ECG, tests or spirometry?

Some competition certificates require a more extensive examination, for example an ECG, blood test, urine test or spirometry. There may also be requirements for a specific examination method or doctor's qualification.

Contact us by email before booking if your certificate requires an ECG, extended testing or other special examinations. Do not book a standard appointment online in that case.

Send the organiser's medical requirements and any forms. We will review the documentation and get back to you with an answer on what we can help you with, the price and how to book the right visit.

Additional costs may apply for further examinations and tests.

What should you bring to the visit?

• Valid physical ID.
• The organiser's or federation's current certificate form.
• Information about the medical requirements and the language the certificate must be in.
• A list of your medications.
• Relevant copies of medical records, medical statements and examination results if you have had previous illnesses or injuries.

You are responsible for bringing relevant medical documentation yourself. We do not have access to your medical records or examination results from other healthcare providers.
