Medical certificate for railway, metro and tram work in Malmö

Do you work in a role that is important for safety on the railway, metro or tram? At IntygsKlinik in central Malmö, we offer health examinations and medical certificates for staff with safety-related duties.

We help both private individuals and companies. The examination is adapted to your position and the medical requirements that apply to the job.

We do not currently carry out health examinations or issue certificates for train drivers.

When do you need a health examination?

A health examination may be needed before employment or training, for recurring health checks, or when your employer asks for a new medical assessment.

The requirements depend on your duties and the rules of your organisation. Please tell us your position and, if possible, send your employer's instructions before booking.

What does the examination include?

At the visit, you show valid photo ID and fill in a health declaration. The doctor goes through your health, any illnesses and your medication.

The examination may include:

• General medical examination.
• Vision and colour vision test.
• Hearing test.
• Sampling based on the current requirements.
• Questions about alcohol and drug habits.

When the examination is complete and all the documentation is in place, a medical statement is issued based on the requirements that apply to your job.

Doctors with relevant training and expertise

At IntygsKlinik, we have doctors with training in traffic medicine via the Swedish Transport Agency and doctors with FLÄK competence, förtroendeläkare.

The examinations follow the rules and health requirements that apply to each type of duty and organisation. These may include:

• TSFS 2019:112: for staff with safety-critical duties within national railway systems.
• TSFS 2019:113: for staff with duties that are important for safety on the metro and tram.
• TSD Operation and the organisation's established health requirements for relevant duties within the EU railway system.
• The Traffic Administration's health requirements for relevant authorisations within SL's track environment.

What should you bring to the visit?

• Valid physical ID.
• Glasses or contact lenses if you use them, preferably with your current prescription.
• A list of your medication.
• Any forms and instructions from your employer or training provider.
• Details of your position and your duties.
